This Weekend's Indies: 'The Zero Theorem,' 'Tracks,' '20,000 Days on Earth' and more!

The Zero Theorem: In a near-future dystopian sci-fi, Christoph Waltz is Qohen Leth, the computer programmer approached by the enigmatic "Management" that charges him with solving the mathematical problem known as the zero theorem. Qohen, riddled with anxieties, has to balance this job with maintaining his own psychological health. This is the newest from Terry Gilliam, who refers to it as the last in a tryptich preceded by 12 Monkeys and Brazil.

Tracks: From  director John Curran is the adaptation of the '80s bestselling book Tracks, a memoir from an American writer who traveled across the Australian Outback for nine months with four camels and a dog. Mia Wasikowska plays the travel writer, Robyn, and is joined by indie favorite Adam Driver as her part-time travel companian Rick Smolan.

20,000 Days on Earth: This documentary, co-written by Iain Forsyth and Jane Pollard presents 24 hours in the life of artist and musician Nick Cave as he produces his 2013 album, Push the Sky Away. Fans of Cave's will enjoy the film's introspection of the artist and his creative process. The film also features Cave's collaborators - Kylie Minogue, Ray Winstone, and Warren Ellis who weigh in on the man as they know him personally and professionally.

This Is Where I Leave You: Based on the bestselling novel by Jonathan Tropper, Shawn Levy's latest is about a group of siblings who are reuinted at their childhood home to sit shiva upon their father's death. The siblings - played by Tina Fey, Jason Bateman, Adam Driver, and Corey Stoll - spend as much time bickering as they do in mourning.
