Friday the 13th is approaching and IFC wants you to do it up right by screening Stanley Kubrick's The Shining. This deliciously infamous film follows the Torrance family as they take over an abandoned hotel for the winter. Danny Torrence, the father, starts to experience cabin fever and turns to insanity as a result. The only thing that can save his wife and son from him is "The Shining".

As counterintuitive as this may sound, New York is actually the perfect place to be broke—at least during the summer.
