Working Actor: Where You've Seen Michael B. Jordan Before

Thanks to his powerful performance in 'Fruitvale Station,' Michael B. Jordan is a surefire contender in this year's award season. Where have you seen the actor before?

Working Actor: Where You've Seen Michael B. Jordan Before

Michael B. Jordan is a familiar face from television, but his forays into film have been exceptional. If you’ve watched anything in the past 10 years, you’ve probably seen him around. Let’s explore.

You Might Recognize Him From…

…what I consider to be his most recognizable role, in everybody’s favorite television mini-drama “The Wire”, as Wallace, the 16 year old dealer working for the Barksdale crew. It’s this role that gave his career a boost, or at least got him some visibility to huge audience, and imprinted him as someone to watch.

Unless You Watched A Lot Of Daytime Television and Middling Sitcoms In The Late ‘90s...

…because Jordan’s career started as a recurring character on “Cosby”, and continued with a guest spot on "The Sopranos," and a three-year stint on “All My Children as troubled teen Reggie Porter. Fun fact: Michael B. Jordan replaced “42” actor Chadwick Boseman in the role.

Maybe You Have A Weakness For Sappy Primetime Dramas About Football Or Large, Overly-Familiar Families…

…and you’ve watched everything producer Jason Katims has done since you saw the first episode of “Friday Night Lights”. If so, you probably exclaimed “There’s Wallace!” sometime around season 4 of this series when you saw Jordan star as sensitive but tough football player Vince Howard. If the end of "Friday Night Lights" had you shouting “Texas Forever!” at the television during Sunday Night Football and yearning for a viewing experience that tugs just-so at your heartstrings, then you were pleasantly surprised when you saw Jordan as Alex, a do-gooder ex-alcoholic love interest on Katims’ show “Parenthood.”

If You Like Your Movies Powerful And Full Of Tears…

…check out Jordan’s star turn in Ryan Coogler’s debut Fruitvale Station. His portrayal of Oscar Grant heralds the arrival of a talented performer and showcases his versatility as an actor. It is not to be missed.

Where You Can Find Him Next In...

...a decidedly lighter move, Jordan will be starring in the upcoming bromantic comedy That Awkward Moment alongside Zac Efron, Miles Teller and Imogen Poots.
