At the Tribeca Film Festival, we are extremely proud of our talented and immensely accomplished TFF 2015 jury. As is tradition, our jury is filled with notable filmmakers, writers, producers, actors, journalists and industry members. Our TFF 2015 jurors will bear the responsibility of selecting from our phenomenal competition line-up the winners in the various categories who, in addition to recognition, will receive works from our Artists Awards Program, sponsored by CHANEL, and even some additional prizes (including cash!).

Whoopi Goldberg Is Back For Her 14th Festival

Did you know that Whoopi Goldberg has been a part of our family since the very beginning? The EGOT winner has been a jury member at every Festival, generously sharing her industry experience and distinguished film palette. When asked why she kept coming back year after year, Goldberg eloquently explained: “The Tribeca Film Festival combines two of my favorite things: movies and New York City! I’m so proud to be part of this event celebrating the revitalization of downtown Manhattan. Over the years, I’ve seen so many interesting films—both narrative and documentary— and met so many incredible people as part of the Festival jury. I’ve gotten to support friends like Quincy Jones and even saw the world premiere of my own documentary [I Got Somethin' to Tell You]. There’s no place I’d rather be than New York City in the spring at the Tribeca Film Festival. " Whoopi, we’re honored to have you!

David Gelb Has A Doc And A TV Show In The Festival

Filmmaker David Gelb first came to the Tribeca Film Festival back in 2011 with his stunning and poignant documentary, Jiro Dreams Of Sushi. We’re thrilled to welcome Gelb back to the festival as a member of our World Documentary Feature jury, and as a filmmaker and Executive Producer! Gelb’s new documentary A Faster Horse takes a closer look at the legacy of Ford Motors as a reflection of American ingenuity, craftsmanship and character. As part of our Tribeca Talks: After The Movie series, Gelb will offer audiences a peak at his new Netflix documentary series, Chef’s Table, which profiles acclaimed chefs from around the world.

Michael Rapaport is a Returning TFF Filmmaker

Once you show a film at the Tribeca Film Festival, you're like family. We’re proud to welcome back two-time TFF filmmaker and well-known character actor Michael Rapaport to enjoy the Festival as a distinguished member of the Best New Documentary Director jury. We first screened his directorial debut Beats, Rhymes & Life: The Travels of A Tribe Called Quest at our 2011 Festival, and Rapaport endeared himself to sports fans everywhere with his 2014 TFF hit When The Garden Was Eden, a cinematic love letter to the New York Knicks. Rapaport is also helping us spread the word about the return of AT&T's Film For All Friday, which gives all New Yorkers the opportunity to see some of the very best films for free at the 2015 Festival on Friday, April 24th.
