The Tribeca Family Festival, presented by American Express, is a FREE family-friendly day of activities, films and performances, and vibrantly celebrates local community schools, restaurants and merchants. Every single thing you need to know, including a handy map, can be found here, but if you haven't been before, here are some highlights!

Tribeca Family Festival Street Fair: Saturday, April 27th along Greenwich St. (between Chambers St. and Hubert St.), 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM

Come join us this Saturday, April 27 for Tribeca's Family Festival! From 10:00 AM – 6:00PM, Greenwich Street (north of Chambers St) will come alive with free filmmaking activities, chef demonstrations, games, performances, films and more for kids of all ages. The Family Festival will also include a free screening of ‘The Smurfs’ (hosted by Time Out Kids®) with a special guest appearance by Christina Ricci. Kids are invited to step onto the Tribeca Studios Backlot and into a lively filmmaking experience with our green screen, movie hacking and flipbook activities and even get a glimpse into a star movie trailer. Families can also watch a live chef demonstration, visit our Arts & Crafts pavilions, dance to live music, create a life-size bubble or fly a kite; the choice is yours! Foods, refreshments and merchandise from local restaurants and merchants will be available, and if you really want to feel like a star, we even have a red carpet where you can take a glamorous photo! 

Our Festival stages will feature special performances from the current Broadway shows of: Annie, Cinderella, Kinky Boots, Motown: The Musical, Pippin, Rock of Ages and Wicked, alongside emerging talent based right here in Tribeca. On the Filmmaking stage there will be Hollywood Stunts being performed and Young Storytellers weaving tales of delight! 

There is also a “Tot Spot Play Zone” and Story Corner featuring children’s authors and live storytellers for the younger festivalgoers to enjoy. 

There are also FREE screenings for audiences of all ages to enjoy!

Attend a special screening of "The Smurfs," hosted by Time Out Kids®, with a special guest apperance by Christina Ricci!

11:00 am  TFI PRESENTS at the Tribeca Film Center (375 Greenwich Street)

A special program of short films created by downtown filmmakers who are also Film Fellows with the Tribeca Film Institute.

1:00pm  GE FOCUS FORWARD: “The Long and Short of Innovation” at the Tribeca Film Center (375 Greenwich Street)

A special program of Family-friendly short docs that focuses on innovation in storytelling. The event will feature directors Ricki Stern and Annie Sundberg.

3:00pm STORYCORPS: “Stories in Animation” at the Tribeca Film Center (375 Greenwich Street)

The award-winning StoryCorps Animated Shorts feature the stories of everyday people, told in their own voices, featuring animator Mike Rausch and senior producer Michael Garofalo.

TFF/ESPN Sports Day: N. Moore St. (between Greenwich St. and West St.), 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM

 Located just around the corner from the Tribeca Family Festival, our free TFF/ESPN Sports Day is taking sports to streets in Tribeca! Come engage with local athletes, mascots, and sports personalities, or get a little more hands on and sharpen your fencing skills, hit the perfect slap shot, throw a touchdown, learn to double dutch jump rope, play Ultimate frisbee, or learn some new skateboard moves!

It’s a great day to visit Tribeca for a celebration of films, family and fun!
