Opening in limited release today, a story of a friendship riddled with struggle and angst, and a boy embarking on a dangerous mission to prove his worth.

This Weekend's Indies: 'In Bloom' and 'The Rocket'


In Bloom​: This coming of age story from Georgia was the country's official Oscar submission for Best Foreign Language Film. In 1992, Eka and Natia must decide which rules and traditions they will live by. Will the friends be able to make better lives for themselves, or will they become like everyone else in their family? 


The Rocket : This TFF 2013 Best Narrative, Best Actor, and Audience Award winner was also Australia's official Oscar submission for Best Foreign Language Film. It tells the story of a young boy, hoping to prove once and for all that he's not cursed, who builds a rocket for a festival competition.
