Friday, June 27

At the Drive In featuring Mad Max
Videology at 7:30 PM
Tickets: $22 

Drive-in movies may seem like a thing of the past, but this Friday Videology is bringing it back with an drive in screening of Mad Max.  It might seem like a bad idea to watch a movie riddled with vehicular homicide in a car, but Videology will be providing comfort food for your experience. 

Des: Art Ice Cream Party 
Bar Catalonia at 6 PM
Tickets: Free

Art, free booze, and ice cream- do we need to say more? Des: Art is holding a gallery at Bar Catalonia in midtown that will be holding a free craft beer tasting, and a $5 ice cream cocktail bar! The event is free all night and will be exhibiting artwork by Erica Geralds, live painting by WARP, and will also have a swimwear trunk show! 

Outdoor Screening of La Haine
Tompkins Square Park
Tickets: Free

Films on the Green is a French outdoor film festival that will be screening movies throughout the summer. This weekend is Mathieu Kassovitz' La Haine. Come and watch this enthralling film that follows the lives of three teenage boys in the ghetto suburbs of France. 

Saturday, June 28

Les Enfants Perdus
395 Wythe Ave at 2 PM
Tickets: $5/$10 after 5 PM

Les enfants perdus (the lost children) have finally found a home in Brooklyn, and are inviting you to join them for a French dance party! Featuring DJ sets from French Horn Rebellion, Savoir Adore, and Diver- Les Enfants Perdus will keep you on your feet, guzzling $8 dark and stormies, and munching on tacos.

The Old Woman

Tickets: Start at $25 

Come to see a rare performance by the incredibly talented Willem Dafoe and Mikhail Baryshnikov in Robert Wilson's 'The Old Woman.' The play is a surreal and Kafkaesque interpretation of recently rediscovered writings by Russian author Daniil Kharms that will send your mind on a journey.

Dark Disco on The Roof

Tickets: $15

Come and listen to the tunes of Jimmy Edgar, Lauren Flax, and Braille on the rooftop of Brooklyn's Output. These three DJ sets will keep you busy and dancing on Saturday, so go grab your tickets before they sell out!

North by Northwest
Nitehawk Cinema

Start your Sunday morning off right with a little crime, mystery, and Cary Grant. Sit back and watch Roger O. Thornhill try and escape a mistaken identity that could potentially lead to his death. If the film leaves a bad taste in your mouth, wash it down with a few mimosa's at Nitehawk's brunch special. 

You Don't Have to Settle Presents YACHT

Ever feel like you're constantly having to settle in the city? Whether its having to settle for a room (closet) in an apartment (studio), or having to wait in line for a ramen shop that just opened a week ago- NYC is definitely a city that can force you to settle. Well YDH2S is telling you that you don't have to anymore! Come join them for a yacht-themed dance party in Brooklyn with live DJ sets and drinks. Grab your Sperries and salmon-colored shorts, and join the fun!

Star Trek Sundays
Videology at 12 PM
Tickets: Free

Come let out your sci-fi geek at Videology this Sunday for their weekly screening of 7 hours of Star Trek. Geek out and sip on some Brandy, Romulan Ale, and Earl Grey tea whilst watching hours and hours of this classic spacebound TV show.
