Opening this weekend is Lynn Shelton's Laggies, which tells the story of a misguided woman (Keira Knightley) in a very relatable situation where she finds herself firmly  in adulthood and with nothing much to show for it. In one formative evening, she rejects her boyfriend's proposal and befriends a high-school girl looking for help buying alcohol. She ends up spending a week to recoup and self-reflect at her new teenaged friend's home. 

With a variety of talent billed in this film, we take a look at some of their previous work that's currently available to stream.

Keira Knightley as Megan

Like so many others in her generation, Megan has had a few false starts in her life. After swiftly dodging her high-school boyfriend's proposal, she starts hanging out with teenager Annika.

Keira Knightley role Laggies is such a departure from the dramatic period pieces she is known for. In Pirates, she was Elizabeth Swann, the spoiled but plucky governor's daughter who got caught up in the whirlwind of piracy.  

Chloë Grace Moretz as Annika

Annika, the 16-year-old troublemaker, takes in the similarly wayward Megan when her life derails. The relationship, mostly an exchange of room and board for booze and adult wisdom, grounds the movie's central narrative.

The majority of criticism around this remake of Brian dePalma's Carrie is that it's not the original. But once you stop holding this movie to that impossible standard, it's quite entertaining, and Moretz proves capable of carrying such an iconic cinematic character. 

Sam Rockwell as Craig 

Craig is Annika's dad who begrudingly accepts Megan's presence, but, of course, is won over by her charm.

Bless the day Galaxy Quest became available on Netflix so we can all reflect on Sam Rockwell as Guy, the extra in the fake TV show who keeps being killed off. Guy brings the laughs withhis panicky anxiety about his ever-impending death. 

Mark Webber as Anthony

Anthony is Megan's eager high-school boyfriend who proposes and freaks her out.

Webber stars in this thriller as the game-show contestant who has no idea what he's in for. Things get creepier and weirder as he passes every challenge, and the series of plot twists end with the biggest surpise of all.

Ellie Kemper as Allison

Allison is Megan's friend who just doesn't understand her and unlike Megan, was not afraid to get engaged.
