6 Fall Movies We're Spoiler-Proofing With Netflix's Spoiler Foiler

The new Netflix Twitter app is designed to keep your Twitter feed free of spoilers for TV shows you're not caught up with yet (say, 'Breaking Bad'). But which movies yet to open could also use the black-bar redacted treatment?

6 Fall Movies We're Spoiler-Proofing With Netflix's Spoiler Foiler

Necessity being the mother of invention, Netflix appears to have devised a Twitter app designed to seek out any spoilers for certain TV shows and black-bar them so you don't, for example, get Breaking Bad spoiled for you. It's all well and good for TV, but what about movies, which are just as vulnerable to devious spoiler attacks? Just off the top of our heads, we can think of a half-dozen movies set to open this fall that would be marred by excessive spoil-tweeting. Here's hoping the technology can bail us out.

Movie: Gravity
Spoiler Sensitivities: Do Sandra Bullock and George Clooney d-i-e after being stranded in space? Are there any minutes-long shots that will attract critical praises?
When Should The Spoiler Foiling Begin: As soon as possible. The movie has already screened the major festivals, and critics are armed to the teeth with giveaways.

Movie: The Counselor
Spoiler Sensitivities: Do Michael Fassbender, Javier Bardem, Penelope Cruz, and Brad Pitt make it out of all the criminal double-crosses alive? Do Penelope Cruz and Cameron Diaz's characters mention squaring off over Tom Cruise in Vanilla Sky? Does Diaz's character actually morph into a cheetah by film's end?
When Should The Spoiler Foiling Begin: It opens on October 25, so probably a good 5 days before that, just to guard against sneak peeks.

Movie: Thor: The Dark World
Spoiler Sensitivities: Do Thor and Loki mend fences by the end??? Does Rene Russo really get to kill some bad guys like it looks in the trailers? What's the post-credits Avengers scene???
When Should The Spoiler Foiling Begin: It doesn't open in the States until November 8, but worldwide it drops starting October 30 so beware.

Movie: Oldboy
Spoiler Sensitivities: Did Spike Lee change the end? Did he change the end?? DID HE????
When Should The Spoiler Foiling Begin: Again, worldwide, it opens well before the November 27 U.S. release date. October 10 in Russia, according to IMDb.

Movie: The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug
Spoiler Sensitivities: How desolate, exactly? What Lord of the Rings characters make cameo appearances? What's the post-credits Avengers scene?
When Should The Spoiler Foiling Begin: December 13 stateside. December 11 if you know anyone in Western Europe or Scandanavia.

Movie: Anchorman: The Legend Continues
Spoiler Sensitivities: Make sure you can see the movie before everybody in your Twitter feed wears out all the jokes.
When Should The Spoiler Foiling Begin: December 19.
