Lars Von Trier has finally put out the trailer for his much talked-about new film, "Nymphomaniac." Here are five reasons to get excited.

Charlotte Gainsbourg

The best part of any Von Trier film is arguably Charlotte Gainsbourg. In lesser hands, the role of Joe would have been over-acted and cartoonish, but Gainsbourg proves once again that less is more. "Perhaps the only difference between me and other people is that I've always demanded more from the sunset," she muses. She says this simply and without pretense, proving she's perfect for this role.

Lars Von Trier and the Final Chapter in The "Trilogy of Depression"

Nymphomaniac, along with Melancholia and Antichrist, form Lars Von Trier's Trilogy of Depression. The trilogy represents forms of grief and coping. Does this final installment mean he has come full circle?

The Ensemble Cast

As we traipse through Joe's sexual adventures, we necessarily meet an interesting cast of characters, including Stellan Skarsgård, Uma Thurman (both acting in "best behavior" mode and screaming), and powerhouse Sophie Kennedy Clark. The trailer also features many a devilish grin from Shia LaBeouf and a slightly confused Jamie Bell.

The Editing

Molly Marlene Stensgaard has edited the majority of Von Trier's films, most notably Dogville and Dancer in the Dark. This storyline jumps around a lot, at least in the trailer, but Stensgaard is sure to make it look easy.

The Storyline

Lars Von Trier has shown us time and again that he is quite adept at mixing the traditional and experimental. In Nymphomaniac, he uses a violent event and an act of kindness as a vehicle for liberation and the exploration of addiction. The trailer shows us a bruised Joe, immediately adding intrigue. Who did this to her? How did Seligman (Skarsgård) find her? How does it all begin?
