Priya's Shakti, an inventively subversive new comic book centered around an Indian mortal girl named Priya who becomes a superhero following a traumatic gang rape, is receiving an augmented reality exhibition at New York City's City Lore Gallery from May 7th to July 31st.

The comic book and its subsequent exhibition, which were created to combat India's notoriously lenient culture of sexual violence against women, is a Tribeca Film Institute New Media-funded project and was featured at the Interactive Playground during this year's TFI Interactive.

The exhibition allows participants to interact and engage with this radical female superhero's epic adventures by using the mobile app Blippar to augment the artwork, turning Priya's beautiful story of survival through reinvention into an immersive, extra-dimensional comic book before the viewer's very eyes.
