Jurors Answer Life's Questions: Part 5
Meet Tribeca Film Festival jurors, director Gary Winick and writer John Ridley. The latter makes a special plea to fellow juror Alicia Keys.
The 2010 Tribeca Film Festival is delighted to announce its juror slate. 36 jurors who are at the top of their field in acting, directing, writing, journalism, and art will decide the winning films in the World Narrative Feature Competition, the World Documentary Feature Competition, the Best New York Narrative Competition, the Best New York Documentary Competition, the Narrative Shorts, the Documentary and Student Shorts, and the Tribeca All Access Competition.
In an effort to get to know these artists a little better, we asked them to submit their answers to some questions about life, art, films, and inspiration. Say hello to Gary Winick and John Ridley!

Are there any movies that you find yourself quoting all the time?
Yes, but they are Japanese films, so nobody knows what I'm talking about.
What's your earliest memory of seeing (and loving?) a movie in the theater?
When I went to see Avatar. I'll never forget that. Never... Wait, did you say "loving"?
With what movie character do you identify most?
The ones on the cutting room floor
What gets you up and going in the morning?
Nothing, which is why I frequently sleep past noon. I hope there will not be any screenings prior to 10 AM, or there's going to be a slight problem.
What's your favorite thing about New York?
Alicia Keys (Can you please tell her I said that?)
What's your life philosophy or motto?
Hang up your phone and drive, a**hole.
What's your chief characteristic?
The inability to answer questions sincerely
