He turned the nation's attention to our broken healthcare system with SiCKO. He exposed the horrors of our economic system in Capitalism: A Love Story. In 2016, his Where To Invade Next proposed remedies for how to heal America. On November 8th, the world came to grips with what Moore had been warning for months: President Donald J. Trump.
D.A. Pennebaker
Donn Alan Pennebaker is widely regarded as one of the pioneers of cinema verite filmmaking. Working with Drew Associates in the early sixties, Pennebaker helped engineer the first portable 16mm sync camera rig. Their film subjects included the presidential campaign of John F. Kennedy, Primary. Pennebaker’s 1967 portrait of Bob Dylan, Dont Look Back, and Monterey Pop with Janis Joplin and Hendrix, defined the music genre. For over forty years, Pennebaker has partnered with Chris Hegedus. The team received an Academy Award® nomination for their 1994 Clinton campaign film, The War Room. In 2013 Pennebaker received the first Lifetime Achievement Academy Award® given to a documentary filmmaker.
