Called More Than One Octopus, this first episode follows the stories of Pippa Ehrlich, the Director of My Octopus Teacher, and Zolani Mahola, The One Who Sings.

When Pippa receives backlash against My Octopus Teacher from a small community of filmmakers in South Africa, and Zolani realizes she has never fully felt that her voice was her own, both go on a quest through the history of Apartheid, South Africa, and their own histories to solve an ecological riddle: are cultural diversity and biodiversity connected? And if so, how does this impact South Africa's communities and ecosystems?
