Le Havre’s Maison de l’armateur is one of the few house in the city to survive the D-Day bombings. Built like a spiral, it houses treasures that tell the story of Western colonialism. Through its owner’s special relationship to these objects, and with a soundtrack based on Bernard Hermann’s score to Psycho, Dead World Order examines the desire to preserve and organize objects and, by so doing, tell a specific historical tale.
