An American travels to China to meet his wife's extended family for the first time, but the couple soon find themselves caught up in the SARS panic that is sweeping through the country. Their attempts to turn the trip into the honeymoon they never had are met with delirium and boredom in this dual examination of love in dire circumstances and the media's need for spectacle. Mathieu Borysevicz, a Brooklyn-based artist, filmmaker, and critic, has exhibited his work at the ICA London, the Bauhaus in Dessau, and the Beijing Art Museum. He received awards from the Asian Cultural Council and the Lower Manhattan Cultural Council. He has also written for Art in America and World Art. Since 1995, Borysevicz has worked for ABC, CNN, and National Geographic. His films have been shown at Anthology Film Archives, and the Center of Contemporary Culture, Barcelona.
