Ethan Collins is a severely depressed, foul-mouthed elementary school teacher. His wife's recent infidelity and departure have left him questioning the value of marriage, life, personal hygiene, and being in a conscious state. Luckily, his class of third graders is there to hear his thoughts on all of these issues.

Sezen Kayhan was born in Ankara and studied archaeology and art history at Bilkent University. She has worked on various film and documentary projects in Turkey, Italy, Germany, and United States. She is currently working toward her master's degree in film. Time of the Plums is her debut film.
