The story of Marco Solo is many ways the story of writer/director Adrian Bosich, who also grew up in an overcrowded Italian suburb in Melbourne, Australia. His short film captures a "bubble of 1950's Italian culture" transplanted to Australia, the director says, and it contrasts not only "Australian and Italian cultures, but rather 1950's Italy vs. 1980's Australia."
