Female Director(s), Documentary
A group of prisoners serving varying sentences for a variety of crimes attends a night class every Tuesday in HMP Wandsworth, where they learn the sedate art of patchwork and quiltmaking. For many of them, this newfound hobby has become a calming, meditative pastime that takes their minds off the day-to-day monotony of prison life and gives them something to look forward to every day.

Directed by Fiona Collins

Fiona Collins (b. Blackpool, Lancashire) was a registered nurse in general medicine and psychiatry before she earned a MA in the history of design from the Royal College of Art in London. Not Sacks is her first independent documentary film. It combines two of her major interests, sewing and filmmaking.
