13 Halloween Costume Ideas Taken From Movie Characters' Best Halloween Costumes

Admit it, you don't have a clue about what you're wearing on Saturday. These left-of-center costume suggestions won't only make the decision easier, they'll also save you from wearing what everyone else is wearing.

13 Halloween Costume Ideas Taken From Movie Characters' Best Halloween Costumes

Halloween is three days away. That's right, three.

That's barely enough time to figure out which specific horror movies to watch over the weekend (consult Shudder for that), let alone a sufficient number of hours to settle on the right costume for those upcoming Mischief Night and Saturday night bar crawls and parties. The easy way out would be to brave the nearest costume superstore, wade through the dismantled and crumpled-up outfits littering the retail venue's floor, wait in line for 20-30 minutes to try on some one-size-fits-all costume that's either skintight or parachute-loose, and then eventually grab a Donald Trump mask or a "sexy" whatever-the-hell and sulk all the way to the cash register.

Which is exactly what happened last year, isn't it? Except the last-ditch options were Thor and Katniss Everdeen, and there were upwards of 15 other Thor's and Everdeen's occupying the same exact space at the party that night. To paraphrase the great Inspectah Deck, life as a Halloween participant shouldn't be so rough.

This year, it doesn't have to be.

While everyone else lazily dresses up as their favorite superheroes or fictional movie characters, why not get a little weird and replicate a movie character's own Halloween attire? It's somewhat meta and bizarre enough that, who knows, it just might lead to costume exclusivity this weekend. Or, if nothing else, a nice conversation starter when someone asks, "And what are you supposed to be?"

We've gathered 13 options and spread them out in the slideshow above. Thank us later. (Perhaps on, say, Sunday afternoon, after you've recovered from that hangover and are sleeping with your "Best Costume of the Night" cash prize in hand.)
