Doha Film Institute

Families can attend a special screening of Freej Folklore, presented by Tribeca's Cultural Partner, the Doha Film Institute, and directed by animator and TFF Juror Mohammed Saeed Harib. 'Freej' (meaning 'neighborhood' in Emirati Arabic) is the smash hit 3D animated series from the United Arab Emirates. It is a hilarious take on modern life in Dubai through the wisdom and humor of four old national women tackling everyday problems. The series expanded into 'Freej Folklore'—a stage show combining a unique mix of live and virtual animation, film, light, and acrobatic performances across a 40 meter stage with multilayer screen projections. This film captures the essence of the stage show. If you are interested in attending the screening, please email ldomnitz@tribecaenterprises.com. Tickets are limited.
