Maya Newell is an Australian filmmaker known for In My Blood It Runs (2019) and Gayby Baby (2015). Both feature length documentaries were made collaboratively with those on screen. These films both had campaigns to centre the rights of children in First Nations and LGBTIQ+ families respectively.
