If you missed Nas: Time is Illmatic at this year’s Tribeca Film Festival, you will have the opportunity to see the film in theaters again on October 2 in special sneak peek engagements. Audiences in selected venues across the country will have the rare opportunity to experience the story behind one of hip-hop’s most influential albums on the big screen.
Directed by multimedia artist One9 and written by Erik Parker, the documentary revisits the release of Nas’s groundbreaking debut album ‘Illmatic’ twenty years later. Returning to his childhood home in Queensbridge, Nas shares stories of his upbringing, his influences and the obstacles he faced before his major label signing at age 19. Nas: Time Is Illmatic offers audience a in-depth look into Nas’s creative process and commentary from some of the industry’s hottest players, including Pharrell Williams and Alicia Keys.
