Hollywood Remembers the Legendary Lauren Bacall

With the news of Lauren Bacall's passing yesterday, the film community is honoring her memory in the best ways possible. Here are a few of our favorite tributes, in traditional media as well as social.

It's been a tough week for cinephiles, made only harder with the news of Lauren Bacall's passing late last night. Across industries, movie lovers gathered on social media to remember the legend by reflecting on her work, style, life and personality. We've scoured the internet and found the best pieces honoring the legendary Lauren Bacall.

Variety's "Lauren Bacall: 10 Things You Didn't Know About Her Early Career" takes us back through Bacall's issues with Warner Brothers and her refusal to be manipulated. After being suspended for refusing a role, she and Humphrey Bogart took the time to vacation on their yacht.

Remember how Howard Hawks discovered Lauren Bacall in a magazine? The Film Stage found the issue of Harper's Bazaar that drove the iconic director to make that call. She's as stunning as ever in this spread featuring a vacation by the sea.

Chart Bacall's fashion through the years in New York Magazine's "Lauren Bacall Could Teach You a Thing or Two About Style."

Bacall launched her Hollywood career by starring opposite Humphrey Bogart in To Have and Have Not. BFI has collected stills from some of her most memorable roles here.

Bacall's NYT obituary recalls her memoir By Myself, in which she talks about how she developed her iconic "Look" - which she reports was result of nerves from being around Humphrey Bogart.

Lauren Bacall married Humphrey Bogart soon after they starred together in To Have and Have Not - and TIME has footage from their backyard wedding.

Members of the film community fondly remembered Bacall's charismatic attitude on Twitter, as well.

John Cusack retweeted this photoset of the star:

Richard Roeper notes how Bacall coined the term "Rat Pack:"
