Look out, New Jersey: Tribeca is headed to the beach this summer! Through our exciting recent partnership with Caesars Atlantic City, we will co-host a series of four FREE outdoor screenings on the beach in Atlantic City, from Thursday, July 8, to Sunday, July 11. What’s more, Caesars Atlantic City is offering friends of Tribeca—and that means you—a generous rate for anyone who joins us ‘down the shore’ for the big event. We hope you’ll head to South Joisey for what promises to be a fun-filled weekend of movies, sun, and family fun!
What can you expect?
The Tribeca Cinema Series will take outdoor movies to a whole new level! Caesars has a fancy HD screen that’s 33 feet long and 20 feet tall, and all screenings will begin at sundown on the Caesars beach at Arkansas Avenue. Screenings are free and open to the public, so come on down.
Also, each day Caesars will have special programming—DJs, dancing, sand sculptures—from 4 to 9 pm in Bally's Dennis Courtyard Area. Stay tuned for more details!
What’s the discount?
Friends of Tribeca are entitled to 25% off the prevailing rate when using the special code TRIBECA, exclusively on www.caesarsac.com. When you book your room, you will also receive a booklet containing a coupon for a free buffet (with the purchase of one full-priced buffet), a complimentary appetizer with every entrée ordered, a complimentary drink at Sammy’s Beach Bar, a complimentary drink at Toga Bar, and more! (All coupons valid July 8-11.) In addition, throughout the duration of the Tribeca Cinema Series, Caesars will be offering guests a $35 prix fixe menu at several of its restaurants: Mia, Nero’s Grill and Primavera. Sammy Hagar’s Beach Bar (!) is another nearby treat to grab a drink, either before or after the films.
Most importantly, what are the movies???
“We are thrilled to be able to offer such a high-caliber slate of films for Atlantic City guests and residents, who will be able to enjoy these movies on the beautiful beaches at center Boardwalk,” said Jennifer Weissman, Regional VP of Marketing for Harrah’s Entertainment Inc. “Caesars Atlantic City is known for bringing unique entertainment to the shore and the Tribeca Film Festival is the perfect partner to make this the most sought-after destination.”
113 minutes Director: Jacob Tierney Cast: Jay Baruchel, Geneviève Bujold, Anne-Marie Cadieux, Colm Feore, Emily Hampshire, Michael Murphy, Saul Rubinek Description: Like most high schoolers, Leon Bronstein (Jay Baruchel, Tropic Thunder) is having an identity crisis. What differentiates Leon, however, is that he believes he is the reincarnation of Soviet thinker Leon Trotksy and predestined to follow the same path as his namesake. Tackling issues from students’ rights to semi-formal dances, this “revolutionary” comedy will have you united in laughter.
99 minutes Director: Jac Schaeffer Cast: Emma Caulfield, Michelle Borth, John Patrick Amedori, Desmond Harrington, JoBeth Williams, Kali Rocha Description: Finding true love is easier than ever thanks to a bio-technological implant called the TiMER, which counts down to the exact time people meet their soul mates. Love-starved Oona (Emma Caulfield, TV’s Buffy the Vampire Slayer) is pushing 30, but her TiMER hasn't even started counting down yet. What's worse, she's falling for a guy (John Patrick Amedori, Gossip Girl) who is set to meet his true love in four months. Newcomer Jac Schaeffer crafts a smart romantic comedy that leaves behind the burning question... would you want to know?
105 minutes Director: Josh Appignanesi Cast: Omid Djalili, Richard Schiff, Archie Panjabi, Igal Naor, Amit Shah Description: Mahmud Nasir (comedian Omid Djalili) may not be the most observant Muslim, but deep down he is a true believer. His life is turned upside down when he learns he was adopted—but most scandalous is that his birth mother was Jewish! And his given name was Solly Shimshillewitz! As Mahmud tumbles into a full-scale identity crisis, a true comedy of religious errors unfolds.
85 minutes Director: Julian Kemp Cast: Brendan Patricks, Naomie Harris, Jane March, Cécile Cassel, Kelly Adams, Edith Bukovics Description: Based on the international bestseller On Love by Alain de Botton, this delightful romantic comedy explores with delicious wit and whimsy just how modern urban relationships go wrong. Surveying the wreckage of his last five relationships, thirty-something Duncan (Brendan Patricks) concludes that love is a battleground where only the fittest survive.
“The Tribeca Cinema Series at Caesars is a great way to showcase a wide range of independent films to a new audience in an enchanting venue,” said Nancy Schafer, Executive Director of the Tribeca Film Festival. “We are eager to continue working with Caesars Atlantic City to bring quality independent films to this beachside resort.”
