This year, a record-breaking 33% of all feature films screened at the Tribeca Film Festival were helmed by woman directors.
Among these thirty filmmakers, Brazilian-American writer-director Natalia Leite, whose acclaimed web series Be Here Nowish was featured in the Festival as part of last year's new online works showcase Tribeca N.O.W., premiered her well-reviewed feature directorial debut Bare at the 2015 Festival.
In this desert-set lesbian romance, Glee's Dianna Agron plays a young Nevada girl whose sheltered, small-town life is changed forever by a friendship with Paz de la Huerta's enigmatic exotic dancer that soon transitions into tumultuous romance.
Bare opens in theaters this Friday, October 30th, at New York City's IFC Center, and will premiere on iTunes the same day.
