Tribeca and Nitehawk’s New Local Color Series Kicks Off this Tuesday with APPLESAUCE!

Miss the Tribeca Film Festival already? Well we have good news! Tribeca and Nitehawk Cinema are launching a new program that will turn the spotlight on the amazing films and filmmakers coming from New York’s independent film scene, all year long.

The series will feature one-night-only screenings of the most exciting new work by talented NYC directors, followed by festival-style in-person Q&As with the film teams, and a post-screening gathering at Nitehawk’s Lo-Res bar, where you can mingle with the teams behind the films and with TFF and Nitehawk programmers.

The festivities kick off this Tuesday, August 18th when the wickedly hilarious Applesauce debuts for the first time in Brooklyn after its sold-out TFF 2015 screenings.

Variety says of the film, "Onur Tukel’s latest and most accomplished microbudget exercise in cynical absurdism throws dismembered body parts into a couple of amicable marriages and charts the resultant explosions as paranoia runs rampant.” Director and “mad genius” (Bloody Disgusting) Onur Tukel will be in attendance for a Q&A and a post-screening hang in the Nitehawk’s downstairs bar.

The Local Color series continues in September with Young Bodies Heal Quickly.

And join us in October for Ava's Possessions, just in time for Halloween!

Can’t wait to see you there!
