Watch the 'Starred Up' Trailer

Watch the trailer for David Mackenzie’s riveting drama about a father and son in prison.

Make sure he stays inside, the rest of his life.

Tribeca Film is bringing British prison cinema to the US with David Mackenzie's film Starred Up. The film offers an unflinching glimpse into the hellish life behind bars, and the dehumanizing conditions both inmates and staff must suffer in.

Jack O'Connell (300: Rise of an Empire, Skins)  plays the troubled and extremely violent Eric—a teen prematurely transferred to the same adult prison as his father. We watch as Eric undergoes the crushing and traumatic treatment of prison life despite his young age.  Written by actual prison psychologist Jonathan Asser, this chilling portrayal of institutional corruption and culture will caution you from doing so much as get a parking ticket.
