Who attends this event?
Tribeca Immersive’s Virtual Arcade is open to everyone. The event appeals to creatives and other uber-geeks who want to explore and celebrate the art found in the virtual world; and to anyone who wants to experience the very best of virtual reality and interactive projects.

What will I see in the Virtual Arcade?
With 30 virtual reality (VR) and innovative interactive projects on display, Tribeca Immersive presents thought-provoking experiences and installations from top creators and emerging artists, including 20 world premieres. For a full listing of projects please visit

How long has this event been going on?
The Virtual Arcade, which debuted at the 2016 Festival, returns for 2017 as part of the Tribeca Immersive program. This year the Storyscapes selections are presented as part of the Virtual Arcade exhibition. Storyscapes, celebrating its fifth year this spring, was created in 2013 to bridge filmmaking, technology and storytelling.

Buying Tickets
How do I buy tickets? Can I buy tickets on the day of the event?
For tickets please visit our Ticket Information page at Tickets will also be available at the Box Office at the Tribeca Festival Hub located at 50 Varick Street, open 7 days a week, 11:00 am - 10:00pm.

What does my $40 ticket get me?
There are three daily presentations of Tribeca Immersive’s Virtual Arcade feat. the Storyscapes selections; each presentation is three hours in length. Purchase of a $40 ticket allows one attendee access to one 3-hour presentation.

Do I have to pay for each individual virtual reality (VR) experience?
No – ticket purchase (& applicable Tribeca Festival Pass) will grant you access to the Virtual Arcade for three hours. You may view as many experiences as possible during your 3-hour presentation at no additional charge.

How are Storyscapes and Virtual Arcade different? Do I need to buy tickets for both?
No - ticket purchase (& applicable Tribeca Festival Pass) will grant you access to the Virtual Arcade featuring the Storyscapes selections. This year the Virtual Arcade exhibition will run concurrently and will feature the Storyscapes selections as part of the presentation.

Can I visit more than once?
YES! We hope you will join us throughout the festival as often as you can. A valid ticket or Tribeca Pass is required for every presentation you wish to attend.

How do I buy tickets for other Tribeca Film Festival events?
For all ticketing information, including hours of operation, rules and regulations, pricing and package specifics, go to the Ticket Information page. In general, ticket prices range from $12 (matinees) to $40 (some Tribeca Talks series). General evening and weekend screenings are $21. Gaining Access to Tribeca Immersive’s Virtual Arcade feat. the Storyscapes selections

Do I need a ticket to attend the Virtual Arcade feat. Storyscapes?
The Virtual Arcade is open to Tribeca Film Festival Pass Holders (see your badge for details) and to ticket holders with a valid ticket for a specified date and time.

Is there a minimum age requirements to enter the event?
There is no minimum age required to enter the Arcade.

Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?
You do not need to bring your printed ticket, but it is recommended. You can print your ticket from the order confirmation email or pull it up in the Eventbrite app on your mobile device.

Is my registration fee or ticket transferrable?
All tickets are non-transferrable and must be redeemed by the purchaser.

I have a Tribeca Film Festival Badge, can I come to the Virtual Arcade or do I need to buy a ticket?
Hudson Passholders & Tribeca Film Festival (A, B, C gain access) Badge holders are entitled to access to the Tribeca Immersive Virtual Arcade (see your badge for details).

What can I do if the time/date I want is sold out?
As with all popular events, it is recommended to book early as some exhibitions may sell out during busy times (especially on weekends and in the evenings). For your convenience, the Virtual Arcade offers three presentations per day at noon, 3:30pm and 7:00pm. Each presentation will last approximately three hours.

Do I need anything other than my ticket or Tribeca Pass to enter the presentation?
Yes. On arrival at the Tribeca Festival Hub on 50 Varick Street join the line to check in at the box office located on the first floor to redeem your ticket for a wristband for the timed presentation listed on your ticket (or for the presentation you want to attend if you hold a valid Tribeca Pass). Access to the fifth floor will only be granted to those wearing a valid wristband for a specific session.

I have my tickets, when do I need to arrive?
For the best experience and to enjoy all the Virtual Arcade has to offer, we recommend arriving at the event at least 30 minutes in advance. When you arrive, please find the queue located at 50 Varick Street. The event will open 15 minutes prior. Tribeca Pass holders may proceed directly to the Box Office on the first floor to collect their wristband.

What should I bring?
Yourself! And a mobile phone to allow you to sign up for projects in the presentation.

How do I sign up for individual experiences presented in the Virtual Arcade?
Many of the virtual reality (VR) and innovative interactive projects in the Virtual Arcade are available on a first-come-first-served basis. When you enter the Virtual Arcade, simply sign-up via an iPad kiosk located next to each project. For projects without an iPad kiosk, simply line-up in front of the project. Spaces are limited for each project during the three-hour presentation. We recommend arriving early to secure your slot for the project(s) you want to see.

The experience I want to see during my 3-hour presentation is already full, what can I do?
We expect some projects to be very popular and recommend arriving early to secure your slot during the three-hour presentation. If you arrive at an experience and the project is full, we recommend coming back regularly during the three-hour presentation to see if there have been cancellations or no-shows.

How will I know what to expect at each individual virtual reality (VR) experience?
Our Tribeca hosts are on-hand throughout the event to help you get the most out of your experience. As you browse our online schedule or the Arcade itself you will notice that each project is labelled with an icon indicating whether the experience is one of the following: Standing, Seated, Moving or Mobile. So you know what you are getting yourself into!

I have an international phone (from outside of the US), will I still be able to sign up for projects?
If you have a wi-fi capable smartphone or tablet, you will be able to sign-up for projects by joining the free wi-fi in the network in the space. Please see event signage on arrival for login credentials to the network.

May I take photos at the Virtual Arcade?
Unless otherwise posted, personal cameras/phones are allowed provided it is not disruptive to other attendees or the work presented. Attendees may take photos, as long as they are not obstructing views or using flash.
