It's Sicily in 1965, and Franca is forced to marry her rapist to avoid becoming a pariah in her traditionalist community, but she rebels against the established custom and sets a precedent that alters the course of Italian history, paving the way for women's rights.

About the Director(s)
A graduate of UCLA’s MFA Directing program, Marta Savina moved to LA after living in London, where she studied Philosophy at King’s College. Recently, she collaborated with James Franco, in the adaptation of William Faulkner’s short story “Elly,” and with Francis Ford Coppola on his latest project Distant Vision.
