Deconstruction and reconstruction from a found footage of a swashbuckling movie. Hundreds of images were scanned from film fragments and put together
to get a rhythmic composition, “a stream of light energy,” giving a new life to the actors of an obscure forgotten film.
Screening in Shorts Program: Digital DilemmaExperimental
About the Director(s)
Christophe Guérin mainly works from film (Super 8, 16mm, 35mm) in order to obtain a video format for screening, after digital processing. He views the conjunction of the two technologies—film and video—as an enrichment, as his research is carried out both on the graphic dimension, temporality, and also on the sound dimension. Since 2000, about 20 of his experimental shorts have been screened at film festivals worldwide.
When tickets for a screening or event are no longer available, they will be listed as RUSH. The Rush system functions as a stand-by line that will form at the venue approximately 45 minutes prior to scheduled start time. Admittance is based on availability and will begin 15 minutes prior to program start time. Rush Tickets are the same price as advance tickets payable upon entry. There is a limit of one Rush Ticket per person.
