THE MOSTLY UNFABULOUS SOCIAL LIFE OF ETHAN GREEN

FILM GUIDE THE MOSTLY UNFABULOUS SOCIAL LIFE OF ETHAN GREEN

This live-action adaptation of the syndicated comic strip, The Mostly Unfabulous Social Life of Ethan Green, begins as a lighthearted romantic comedy and ends in madcap screwball craziness with not just one, but dozens of gay plot twists. Ethan is 26, good looking, charming, and surrounded by potential dates. Yet he is perpetually unlucky in love thanks mainly to his unique ability to get in his own way. Ethan's ex-boyfriend (and now roommate) Leo is selling the house they have lived in for several years forcing Ethan to choose between finding his own place or moving in with the just-out-of-closet baseball player he's been dating. In the tradition of comic book-worthy sitcoms like The Brady Bunch, Ethan and his pals set out to thwart the impending real estate deal, win back the heart of his perhaps first true love, and get his commitment-ceremony-planning mother off his back. But of course, this is not as easy as it sounds. Before Ethan's day of romantic reckoning arrives, he must survive slamming doors, angry German home buyers, a horny 19-year-old who's smitten with him, two skirt-wearing older queens with an activist streak, and a classic interracial lesbian couple. Will Ethan's scheme to salvage his fashionable living situation succeed? Will he pursue the one man that truly loved him? More importantly, will the ball player take it all off to get what he wants? And finally, will sunny Southern California ever be the same now that Ethan Green is on the scene?
