A discarded Royal Typewriter from the 1930s is picked up from a trash heap and taken to a repair shop in the Flatiron Building. The subsequent letters written and the responses received, including one from President Clinton, makes this a magical typewriter, one that wistfully questions obsolescence.

MICHAEL SCALISI is a New York-based writer, director and photographer whose work has been exhibited in group shows in museums across the U.S. He has generated brand ideas for Ralph Lauren, Calvin Klein, Abercrombie & Fitch, Banana Republic and Armani, and his voice has been featured in commercials. Royal American is his second TFF-selected short.
When tickets for a screening or event are no longer available, they will be listed as RUSH. The Rush system functions as a stand-by line that will form at the venue approximately 45 minutes prior to scheduled start time. Admittance is based on availability and will begin 15 minutes prior to program start time. Rush Tickets are the same price as advance tickets payable upon entry. There is a limit of one Rush Ticket per person.
