1. How do I submit my project to Tribeca Storyscapes?

To submit your project to Tribeca Storyscapes, you will have to complete the online submissions form at, pay the applicable submissions fee and send us two copies of your project on DVD, CD-R, or thumb drive. Please review the Rules and Regulations carefully prior to completing the online entry form.

2. Can you mail or fax me a submissions form?

3. What is the submissions deadline and fee for the 2016 Tribeca Storyscapes?

The OFFICIAL entry deadline submissions must be mailed in by the applicable date and must arrive at our offices no later than 5 weeks from the postmark date.

4. How can I pay the submissions fee?

You must fill out the online submissions form first at At the end of the form, you will be prompted to pay the fee. We accept payment by credit card (American Express, Discover, Mastercard, JCB and Visa). Please do not send checks, money orders, or cash.

5. Do I have to pay a submissions fee if I am submitting a student project?

Entry fees are waived for students submitting transmedia projects. Entry fees will be waived upon receipt by the festival of a photocopy of a current and valid student ID card or a letter from an accredited school verifying enrollment.


6. If I have already completed the online submissions form, can I go back to edit information or to update my contact information or my film’s screening history?

Once you have completed and submitted the online form, you cannot go back to edit. If you need to change any information you have provided us with, you must email

7. Can I submit a project that is a work-in-progress?

8. My project is an interactive storytelling related film. Can I submit to the Tribeca Storyscapes and to the film festival?

You may submit to both if you meet the eligibility requirements as outlined in the Rules and Regulations. You will have to fill out the online form and pay the applicable submissions fee for EACH entry.

9. Do I have to obtain rights and clearances for the music or other copyrighted material included in my film or project?

Yes, please review the Rules and Regulations carefully.

10. What is your preferred format for submission?

Projects should be submitted via a password-protected link with your submission form. The content may include password-protected links to web pages, videos, or other relevant media.

11. Is there a tracking number for submission?

Yes, you will receive a confirmation email after submitting your online application with a submission number. Please reference this and the project title when inquiring about your project.

12. What if my submission cannot be accessed by link?

If you need to send in additional materials to be considered, please email us at and we will work with you.


13. How do I know if my film is eligible for consideration?

Please refer to our rules and regulations for complete eligibility rules. For quick reference, you can check the eligibility chart below.

14. What locations are included in the New York Region?

“NY Region” means the tri-state area including the five boroughs of New York City, the surrounding New York metropolitan area (e.g. Nassau, Suffolk, Westchester, Putnam, Dutchess, Rockland, Orange, Ulster and Columbia counties), southwestern Connecticut (e.g. Fairfield, New Haven and Litchfield counties) and northern New Jersey (e.g. Bergen, Passaic, Monmouth and Hudson counties).


15. How do I know if my submission has arrived?

We will send a confirmation email once your project materials have been received and are in consideration.
You can email or call (212) 941-2305 to confirm that your submission has gone through properly.

16. When and how will I know if my film has been selected?

We notify ALL filmmakers and project creators via email of their status by early March 2016. Please make sure your contact information is up to date. If you have not received any notification by mid- March 2016, please email for an official notification.

22. If my project isn’t chosen to screen during your Festival, will you let me know why?

No. Due to the large volume of submissions our programmers cannot offer individual critiques.


23. When does the Tribeca Film Festival take place?

The 15th Tribeca Film Festival will take place April 13 - April 24, 2015.
