TRIBECA TALKS ESPN SPORTS FILM FESTIVAL: DATA LAB FOR STORYTELLING - A CONVERSATION WITH NATE SILVER

In Nate Silver's s table-setting piece for FiveThirtyEight, he stressed the value of data and said it's "time for the news to get a little nerdier." In the past year, FiveThirtyEight has done that, making data central to advancing every story on the site - be it written, visual or video. Join Silver and moderator Robert Krulwich after the world premiere of the new FiveThirtyEight short film “Shock the World," about the unlikely election of Jesse Ventura to governor of Minnesota, when he discusses the current boom in available data and how it impacts storytelling, politics and everyday life, as well as how data can help to debunk false narratives as they percolate across the media.
