Comedy, Documentary
An insightful documentary that delves into the psyche of a comic to find out whether you must be miserable to be a comedian. With interviews with some of the biggest names in comedy, including Jimmy Fallon, Amy Schumer, Jim Gaffigan, and Judd Apatow.

After the Movie: director Kevin Pollak, comedian and Sirius Radio co-host Jim Norton, comedian Lewis Black will join Caroline Hirsch, who will moderate.

Kevin Pollak
Kevin Pollak started as stand-up comedian in San Francisco and was a touring pro by the age of twenty-two. After transitioning to acting in his late-twenties, Pollak’s role in Rob Reiner’s "A Few Good Men,” proved his ability to stand out on the big screen among cinematic heavyweights. This was forever affirmed two years later, when Kevin co-starred in "The Usual Suspects” and Martin Scorsese’s "Casino" in the same year. "Misery Loves Comedy" is Pollak's feature directorial debut.

Lewis Black
LEWIS BLACK came into national prominence with his THE DAILY SHOW appearances in 1996, leading to comedy specials on HBO, Comedy Central, Showtime and Epix. In 2001, he won the Best Male Stand-Up at the American Comedy Awards. He has released eight comedy albums, including two Grammy-Award winning albums: "The Carnegie Hall Performance” and "Stark Raving Black." Lewis has published three best-selling books, Nothing's Sacred, Me of Little Faith, and I'm Dreaming of a Black Christmas. Lewis continues his comedy tour, The Rant is Due Part Deux, nationwide in addition to co-starring in the June 25th Pixar release, "Inside Out".

Caroline Hirsch (Moderator)
Caroline Hirsch is the founder and owner of the New York comedy club Carolines on Broadway and the New York Comedy Festival. Based on the number of notable comedians that have performed at her club, Carolines became the place for rising comedians to perform. Caroline quickly earned recognition for her ability to spot rising comedic talent and as a result was asked by the A&E network to produce a stand-up comedy show. She created and executive produced the highly successful “Carolines Comedy Hour.” The show ultimately won a Cable ACE award for Best Stand-Up Comedy Series.
