Heald, Hurwitz, and Schlossberg are the creators and showrunners of the series. They wrote the series and directed the majority of the first season. Josh Heald is best known for creating and writing the cult classic, Hot Tub Time Machine and the sequel, Hot Tub Time Machine 2.
Ralph Macchio plays the recurring role of Officer Haddix in HBO’s The Deuce, and will soon be returning to the iconic film role of Daniel LaRusso in the upcoming YouTube Red series Cobra Kai, based on characters from The Karate Kid films, premiering this spring. Macchio will also guest-star in a multi-episode arc on the CBS hit comedy Kevin Can Wait starring Kevin James and Leah Remini. Macchio will play Alviti, the President of a company buying a property in Long Island with the intention of turning it into a parking lot.

Before joining EW in 2016, Breanne spent more than three years as a Deputy Editor at Yahoo Entertainment, which followed stints as a Senior Editor at MTV Networks and a Senior Writer for E! News. Breanne kicked off her career as a features reporter for the New York Daily News, where she proved she would do anything for a great story, from trying stand-up comedy and wrestling WWE's Triple H to auditioning for American Idol and riding on the back of a motorcycle with Robbie Knievel. Breanne attended Boston University and currently resides in NYC.
William (Billy) Zabka’s breakout acting role came in his first movie, 1984’s The Karate Kid. During the 1930s, Zabka appeared in the comedy films Just One Of The Guys, European Vacation and Back To School and co-starred on the CBS dramatic television series The Equalizer for four seasons. Since then, he’s appeared in dozens of films and television shows and has become an accomplished filmmaker and director. Zabka is currently reprising his role as Johnny Lawrence in a Karate Kid revival series for YouTube Red titled, Cobra Kai. He also serves as a co-executive producer of the series.
