HOMEWORK
In Sara's (Paz de la Huerta) controlled environment, everything is neatly tucked into place: her boyfriend, her family, her homework, her ballet. When a minor injury forces her to take a break from ballet, her world loses its structure, forcing her to look at the life she has created for herself, where nothing is spontaneous and very little brings her joy. Enter Jean, her plumber, a beautiful dancer who teaches the class upstairs from her ballet class. Soon our bored ballerina is pouring Drano™ down her pipes, hoping for more time spent with Jean. As their friendship blossoms, Sara learns that there are more discoveries to be made about her life -- and adventures she never imagined. Kevin Asher Green's gritty film, shot for nothing on the streets of New York City, is extremely well crafted, with richly drawn characters and an assured realism seldom seen in a first feature.
