Okello Sam was drawn into conflict in Uganda in 1985 and became a child soldier; he subsequently escaped and became the creative director of Ndere dance troupe (Uganda) as well as an actor. He is the founder of Hope North in northern Uganda, a haven for escaped child soldiers and orphans.
Gerardo Reyes-Chavez is a staff member of the Coalition of Immokalee Workers (CIW), a Florida-based human rights organization with over 4,500 farmworker members, who has worked in farm labor since age 11.
Withelma “T” Ortiz is a leader and advocate for victims of commercial sexual exploitation. She now uses her own lived experiences to teach, lead, and educate on needed reforms to systems and existing services that often interface with youth who have been sexually victimized including the child welfare, juvenile justice and mental health systems.
Ian Biddle is a former regular soldier who has spent the last 30 years in the business of manufacture, sale, transportation and disposal of munitions and explosives, both in and out of the British Army.
