'Palo Alto' Is Now In Theaters in NYC & LA

In NYC or L.A.? You can see ‘Palo Alto’! (And if you’re in L.A., don’t miss the live Q&A with Gia Coppola!)

One of the most talked-about films at this year’s Tribeca Film Festival, Palo Alto is filled with striking imagery and star-making performances, complemented perfectly by a haunting score from Devonte Hynes and Robert Schwartzman.

Don’t miss your chance to see the movie Stephanie Zacharek of The Village Voice calls "Remarkable... Both of its time and timeless." Palo Alto opens this Friday, May 9th at the Film Society of Lincoln Center and Landmark Sunshine in NYC, as well as the Landmark and Arclight Hollywood in LA, and will expand to select cities in the coming weeks.

For our West Coast friends, director Gia Coppola will be in person for Q&As at The Landmark after 7:30PM screenings on Friday, May 9th and Saturday, May 10th. Val Kilmer will join her for the Saturday session. You can also catch Coppola for a Q&A after the 9:15 PM screening at Arclight Hollywood on the 9th and 10th, with Keegan Allen joining her on Saturday.

[Update: the NYC live events are sold out] In NYC, there are Q&As with James Franco on Friday, May 9th at the Landmark Sunshine, and Saturday May 10th at the Film Society of Lincoln Center. On Friday May 9th, Dev Hynes will perform between the 7:05PM and 9:15PM shows at the Film Society at Lincoln Center (with free cocktails!).

Based on James Franco's Palo Alto: Stories, Gia Coppola's feature debut follows a group of affluent Californian teens on the verge of adulthood. With no role models nor any real guidance, these kids are left to fend for themselves, and bad behavior and angst threaten each of their futures. Brimming with authenticity, Coppola deftly portrays the vulnerability and uncertainty that goes along with adolescence.
