Visit the Apple store in Soho to hear the stars of Dear John, Amanda Seyfried and Channing Tatum, discuss their new movie. This romantic drama is the latest adaptation of a Nicholas Sparks tearjerker, so watch out for the tweens!

Cheap Off-Broadway Tickets

A little more than a movie, but such a deal! Check out 20at20 for $20 tickets to 20 different Off-Broadway shows! And if you see 7 (which would be quite a feat), you also get a free dinner at an assortment of participating restaurants. Show up 20 minutes before the participating shows (see the site for details) and say "20 at 20" for your ticket. There are rules and stipulations, so check out the official site.

Save Ray's

Save Ray's! A Benefit

Ray's Candy Store is an East Village fixture that's been around for over 30 years, offering New Yorkers the tastiest malteds, soft serves, pommes frites, egg creams, and other vittles during the day or very late at night. Ray, who is 76, is being threatened with eviction, which would leave him with no source of income. Save Ray and a true New York establishment with this benefit at Sidewalk Cafe. For more info, check the Save Ray's! Facebook group or Twitter. Besides your $5 donation, 15% of everything you eat or drink at the benefit goes to save Ray's!

Brooklyn Flea


Support your local artists and vendors at this super-cool flea market that takes place in the Williamsburgh Savings Bank during the winter, or just drop by to check out this historic building. Yep, even the vault! Scour the flea market for vintage goodies, collectible items, homemade treats, unique prints and maps, and all kinds of things you never realized you absolutely need.
