The KGB Bar: Fantastic Fiction
In the mood for some creepy yarns? Writers, editors, and hosts Ellen Datlow and Matthew Kressel have got your number. Award-winning author Peter Straub will be reading from his new novel A Dark Matter, and Daryl Gregory will also entertain the audience with out-there tales as part of the famed KGB Reading Series.

Book Launch: The Art of Eating In
It's NYC, and everything we could want is at our fingertips, including breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Author Cathy Erway didn't eat out for 2 years and detailed her adventures in the book The Art of Eating In. Celebrate the release of her book for a mere $10 (a portion of the proceeds will go to Just Food & Oxfam's work in Haiti). Plus, bruschetta, appetizers, DJs, and a reading by Erway.

Cosmic CabaretCinema
The Rubin Museum of Art's feature film series takes you where few people have gone before—spaaaace! This Friday, author John Reed and director Matt Lenski will be introducing 2001: A Space Odyssey at the Cosmic CabaretCinema. Reserve your tickets in advance, lest the ship take off without you.

Celebrate Sesame Street!
You have until February 21 to celebrate this groundbreaking children's show at the Brooklyn Public Library. Check out original art from the Sesame Workshop's Publishing Archive, the story of Sesame Street from its roots until now, props, Muppets from The Jim Henson Company, and other goodies.
