Keep it classy with some Shakespeare, get your angst out at an Anti-Valentine's Day poetry reading, take a chocolate walking tour, and more!

Tribeca Barnes and Noble

An Early V-Day Shakespearean Treat

The Tribeca Barnes & Noble on Warren Street, "the bookseller's answer to the 92nd Street Y," is pairing up with the Public Theater for cool new events, and the first one is just in time for some sweet Shakespearean action. Shakespeare in the Park actors Michael Stuhlbarg (also in the Coens' A Serious Man, out on DVD this week) and Michael Cumpsty and others will be reciting the Bard's love poetry. If you get snowed in, you can watch the event on streaming video over at media.barnesandnoble.com, along with the Tribeca B&N's other events and videos.

Where: Barnes and Noble Tribeca, 97 Warren Street
When: Thursday, February 11, at 7 PM
Price: Free!

An Anti-Valentine's Day Party

Alternatively, you could spend your Thursday night at an Anti-Valentine's Day party! Not everyone is seeing stars this time of year, so meet up with writer Jonathan Ames and contributors to the anthology It's Not You, It's Me to hear break-up poetry, drink, and listen to live music from the band Lunker. Although no one will be at the door to confiscate your phone lest you drunk dial someone from your past (watch out for that free wine and beer), rest assured that you'll be spending time with folks who feel your pain.

Where: powerHouse Arena, 37 Main Street
When: Thursday, February 11, 7 to 9 pm
Price: Free!

Pajama Party Meatup

Put on Your PJs and Party

It's a pajama jammy jam out in Brooklyn with this funky "meatup," with stand-up from Sara Schaefer, special guest performances, live DJs, and specially priced speed dating! Free Lillet cocktails and Smuttynose IPAs for early birds who get there between 7 and 9, plus $3 Busch beers after that.

Where: The Bell House, 149 7th Street
When: Thursday, February 11, 7 PM
Price: $12 for ladies, $12 - $20 for men (see website for full details and deals)

Midnight Movie: The Dark Crystal

The fabulous Sunshine Theater is featuring The Dark Crystal as its midnight movie this week. Frank Oz and Jim Henson's too-creepy-for-kids film is a wizardly wonder of puppetry and pre-CGI magic that you cannot miss on the big screen.

Where: Sunshine Cinema, 143 East Houston Street
When: Friday, February 12, Saturday, February 13, and Sunday, February 14 at 11:59 PM

The Chocolatey-ist Walking Tour of the Year

Check out the best NYC has to offer when it comes to high-class choccies with this free walking tour (suggested donation $5). Walking Tours Manhattan has plucked 4 of the coolest, yummiest chocolate shops downtown for you to peruse, starting at MarieBelle. Your other stops will be Kee's, Vosges, and an East Village surprise—"this store is on a street with no sign, and the store has no sign either. Her specialty is a pretzel-covered chocolate shell encasing silky, creamy, sea-salted caramel." You'll have to buy your own treats, naturally. 100% of your donation goes to the Food Bank for New York City.

Where: MarieBelle Chocolates, 484 Broome St. (at West Broadway)
When: Sunday, February 14, 2010 at 11 am
Price: Suggested donation $5
