Free Fridays at the MoMA
Fridays are free at the Museum of Modern Art, so pick up your (free) timed ticket for the awesome Tim Burton exhibit. From scribbles on scraps of paper to multimedia wonders, fans will be agog at the Burton goodies on display. Take a look at the exhibition's official website—maybe you can catch part of the film series while you're there! Also, be sure to check out Monet’s Water Lilies and the Bauhaus exhibition.

Celebrate MLK At BAM All Weekend
Visit the Brooklyn Academy of Music this weekend to take part in a bevy of cool events celebrating the life and legacy of Martin Luther King, Jr. From January 15 through the 18, you can vist Picture the Dream, an art exhibit of work from young residents of the Brooklyn New York Housing Authority in a workshop taught by Cey Adams. On Friday and Saturday nights at the BAMcafé, you can enjoy live music from the Black Rock Coalition, who will be playing Curtis Mayfield’s songs of the civil rights movement. And on Monday morning at the BAM Howard Gilman Opera House, you can take part in the 24th Annual Brooklyn Tribute to Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., featuring Danny Glover as the keynote speaker and performances by The New Life Tabernacle Mass Choir and Kenny Muhammad The Human Orchestra. Immediately afterwards, the documentary Soundtrack for a Revolution (a 2009 TFF alum) will be screening at BAM Rose Cinemas.

Sing Along with Muppets Take Manhattan
This childhood favorite follows Kermie and his crew to Manhattan as they work feverishly to bring their big show to Broadway, encountering many hilarious bumps along the way. Although this event is slightly more than the price of a movie, your $13 ticket includes one free beer, meaning even the most reluctant warbler will be singing loud and proud.

Dr. Sketchy's Anti Art School
This worldwide phenomenon features live models for you to draw, paint, or doodle while enjoying the company of other fine artistes and a few afternoon cocktails, if you wish. Bring your own supplies, and buy your $10 ticket in advance for this week's feature—a Moulin Rouge tribute, complete with a fabulous cancan dancer and a more modern take on Toulouse-Lautrec.

Georgia O'Keefe: Abstraction
The Georgia O'Keefe exhibit at the Whitney Museum is closing this Sunday, so take an opportunity to see her abstract art for free this Friday. This exhibit features a wide variety of O'Keefe’s abstract art, including over 125 paintings, as well as portraits of the artist and more. The traveling collection will be in Washington, DC and Santa Fe later this year.
