Update: Racing Dreams to be Adapted
![]()
Big news for Marshall Curry, whose film Racing Dreams won Best Documentary at the 2009 Tribeca Film Festival! According to Variety, DreamWorks is planning a feature film based on Curry's crowdpleasing doc about three tweens who are NASCAR hopefuls, and two big names are already attached. Specifically, Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci, the production team with the Midas touch, who wrote and produced Transformers, Star Trek, and Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen, will be producing, although DreamWorks hasn't yet announced a writer or director for the project. (The film's original producing team will be involved, including Curry, Jack Turner, Bristol Baughan and Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson.)
We're excited, and think this doc is ripe for adaptation!
