Joe Strummer Lives! It's fair to say that The Clash are one of the best punk rock bands ever (if not the best), and at the forefront was Joe Strummer, a diplomat's son, turning anger into charged, catchy, and meaningful tunes. As part of the BAMcinematek series Punk 'n' Pie, see Joe Strummer: The Future is Unwritten, Julien Temple's 2007 rockumentary about the legendary Clash frontman. It's been called one of the best rock documentaries ever. And besides, you probably missed seeing The Clash live in '79, right?

Cindy Sherman is BackCindy Sherman is showing her first new exhibit of new work since 2004: "History Portraits." Watch as the chameleon comments on beauty, class, and aging, using herself as the subject. Sherman is a photographer who uses large prints, taking her creepy and haunting aesthetic to a new level when you're eye-to-eye with the pictures on a wall.

Polar Rink at the American Museum of Natural History
We know we told you about ice skating last week, but then we learned about the Polar Rink, made out of artificial ice! Not only does the 100% recyclable and non-toxic surface allow for smooth skating, but it also requires no refrigeration (and no Zamboni!), this making it NYC's first "green" place to skate. (Note: No double blades allowed.)
