Hammer to Nail Launches Short Film Contest

There really is no better way to celebrate a birthday than sharing it with those you love. So in honor of their 4th anniversary, independent film website Hammer to Nail is launching an exciting Short Film Contest.

The contest will be an ongoing and monthly event, open to any and all filmmakers. Hammer to Nail simply requests that film submissions be completed shorts—fewer than 20 minutes in length. Each month, all submitted films with be reviewed first the Hammer to Nail team, and finalist will be selected by a rotating, esteemed panel of judges. Acclaimed filmmaker David Gordon Green (The Sitter, Pineapple Express, All the Real Girls) will be at the helm of February's panel.

Winning films will be reviewed on hammertonail.com and shared with Hammer to Nail's large online community of film lovers. Winners and runners-up will also receive submission waivers (worth up to $200) with an official Hammer to Nail stamp of approval to a lofty bunch of U.S. festivals—including the Hamptons International, Maryland, Los Angeles, and Sidewalk Moving Picture Film Festivals.

And what's more: an annual Grand Prize Hammer to Nail Short Film winner will be selected at the end of each calendar year and receiver an even bigger prize.

The brand-new contest is already a 'go,' with submissions for the inaugural round open until 11:59pm on February 1. So hurry and submit, talented filmmakers! The contest is open to one and all.
