From Script to Screen with Help from IFP

The Independent Filmmaker Project's annual Script to Screen Conference has unveiled a jam-packed line-up of filmmakers, screenwriters, and industry insiders to talk turkey with indie writers and directors. Steadily advancing technology means making movies is easier and cheaper than ever for would-be filmmakers, as well as the means to DIY marketing.

IFP's conference offers a wide variety of speakers from both the TV and movie industries. Hear from Steve Bodow, head writer for "The Daily Show," famous screenwriter writer and producer Brian Koppelman (Ocean's Thirteen, TFF alum The Girlfriend Experience), indie writer/directors Sophie Barthes (Cold Souls) and Debra Granik (Down to the Bone, Winter's Bone), film critic Elvis Mitchell, reps from Tribeca All Access, the Slamdance Film Festival, Filmmaker Magazine, Focus Features International, and more.

The conference panels and workshops address development, pitching, directing your own script, how to use new media to your advantage, casting, and how to keep your momentum as a screenwriter going as a career. Check out the full schedule here. IFP has also put the Internet to work so users near and far to email or Tweet questions for its panelists and submit their pitches.

The conference is this weekend: March 20 and March 21. Passes are $150 for IFP and Affiliate group members. Stay up to date with the latest IFP happenings on their official blog.
