Everybody's Fine Premiere: Join Us!

Okay, New Yorkers. How often do you find yourself walking past a red carpet event—often a movie premiere—seeing the flash of cameras and celebrity smiles, all the while wondering, “How do I get invited to something like that?” Well, here’s your chance.
Tribeca Film Institute invites you to their annual benefit on Thursday, December 3, which this year includes the New York premiere of Everybody’s Fine, the new film starring Robert De Niro, Drew Barrymore, Sam Rockwell, and Kate Beckinsale. A remake of Giuseppe Tornatore's Stanno tutti bene, Everybody’s Fine follows a widower (De Niro) on an impromptu road trip to reconnect with his three grown children over the holidays. The touching film, directed by Kirk Jones (Waking Ned Devine), is destined to become a new holiday classic.
You can find all the details on the Tribeca Film Institute site. Tickets to the event include admission to the New York premiere of Everybody's Fine (at Loews Lincoln Square, 68th & Broadway), with a dinner party immediately following at the landmark destination Tavern on the Green. For more information, download a PDF of the official invitation.

Sure, the price tag is hefty—New Yorkers know there’s no such thing as a free lunch. But in addition to the insider perks (see below), the price of admission also includes the support of a very good cause! You know about the springtime Tribeca Film Festival (2010 dates: April 21-May 2), but are you familiar with the Tribeca Film Institute? All year long, TFI “creates innovative programs that draw on the unifying power of film to promote understanding, tolerance, and global awareness,” with a strong “commitment to educate, entertain and inspire filmmakers and audiences alike, while strengthening the artistic and economic fabric of New York City and its lower Manhattan community.” What’s better than that? And because Tribeca Film Institute is a public charity, most of your ticket price is also tax-deductible. (See the PDF for details.)

At the end of the day, how do you put a price tag on all this evening has to offer? Each ticket includes:
1. a New York premiere of a major motion picture;
2. a chance to hobnob with stars, including Robert De Niro, Drew Barrymore, Sam Rockwell, Kate Beckinsale, Jeffrey Wright, Ed Burns, Christy Turlington, and more*;
3. a fancy night out at Tavern on the Green, a New York treasure that is scheduled to close at year end;
4. bragging rights to your friends; and
5. a chance to impress your date with your connections and good taste.
So what are you waiting for? Will we see you on December 3? Or will you once again be one of the crowd, just walking by?
*scheduled to attend; guest list subject to change.
