Tribeca Talks
| 75 MINUTES
If knowledge is power, then secrets are weapons. Secrets have always fueled great stories, but what happens when our secrets are breached in real life? From love affairs to national security, the information we hide defines our lives, but how can we keep them locked up in the age of the internet, clouds, and hackers? Panelists include former spy Valerie Plame, Pulitzer-prize winning journalist Bart Gellman, We Steal Secrets: The Story of WikiLeaks director Alex Gibney and The Ethical Hacker. Moderated by NBC News’ Cynthia McFadden.

The Ethical Hacker

He often collaborates with other well-known industry professionals on many different areas of information security; he has recently joined forces with some Hollywood’s most influential names to address operational security, intellectual property and piracy issues. Mr. Echemendia has appeared on KTLA, CNN, Fox News, Animal Planet, USA Today, Forbes magazine and many other media outlets.

He won the Academy Award for “Taxi to the Dark Side” and was nominated for “Enron: The Smartest Guys in the Room”. His 2013 film “Mea Maxima Culpa: Silence in the House of God”, won three Emmy Awards and a Peabody Award. He also won an Emmy that year for Showtime’s “The History of the Eagles”.

Valerie Plame
A former career covert CIA operations officer, Valerie Plame worked to protect America’s national security and prevent the proliferation of weapons of mass destruction, in particular nuclear weapons.
